Support the Shoulder at LV Wellness

Available as a single class or can be taken after Moving with the Shoulders on Aug. 24th.

This class is done mostly lying on an exercise mat on the floor.  Mats are provided for use in class.  Please bring several towels that you can fold and stack to use as a pillow if you need support for your head.  Wear comfortable clothes that do not interfere with movement but that allow you to move freely.  This class is done barefoot or with socks.

Suitable for all fitness levels.

While movements are slow and gentle this class is not appropriate for shoulder injuries in the acute stage.  Please check with your medical doctor or physical therapist if you are currently being treated for a recent shoulder injury.

Adaptations can be made if lying on the floor is not an option—please contact Ruth by email at ruth@pacificsomatics.com with questions prior to the start of class to arrange for special considerations.

Double Dip Sunday: Easy on the Shoulders @ 12:30

Here is an opportunity to treat your shoulders (and Neck!) to some feel good movements that can help reduce the tension that can build up over time. In this class I will present a classic Awareness Through Movement® lesson—aka an ATM™ class—which is great for newcomers to the Feldenkrais Method®.

In ATM™ classes the movements are exploratory and done in a way that feels good to you. This a great chance to experience how good it feels to take it easy on the shoulders!

Awarness Through Movement™️: Turning with Ease

The theme of turning continues in my December ATM™️ group classes.

Turning is a fundamental movement of wellness. Through turning we can look to the right and the left, we can see what’s behind us, and we can align ourselves in the environment to go toward the desirable and away from the undesirable.

Too often, the fundamental ability to turn is compromised by injury (particularly in the neck), muscular tension (especially in the neck and shoulders) and sensory motor amnesia (usually in the torso), or a disorganization between the hips and the shoulders. All of these can make turning feel difficult. No matter which of these may be impacting your ability to turn, an Awareness Through Movement™️ lesson can help.

For more information on ATM™ classes in general visit my MOVEMENT page. Got questions about your specific situation, book a no-cost virtual consultation with me prior to this event.

Your first Awareness Through Movement® class with me is free.
